the TeamVodafone website has turned Hot Pink in support of TeamVodafone's support (phew) of the McGrath Foundation. other than color changes to elements like boxes, links, font colors and buttons, the look and feel of most elements on the website have all been maintained. it still is the same TeamVodafone, just in a Hot Pink Skin. also on the website, you can purchase the Official TeamVodafone 2010 Calendar called Shifting Gear, which features a bare-bodied Craig Lowndes on the cover. proceeds from the calendars will go to the McGrath Foundation. so ladies (and gents) go to your part in helping raise awareness for Breast Cancer.

the new Platform Interactive website has finally gone live. its a project that i fondly dub the PILS Project, and its something i've been working to make happen since the first day i joined Platform Interactive.

it has been a long road for this website, a very long and hard journey. and being a Web Development company actually made it even much harder. everyone is an expert, or so it seems. hence it became a struggle to please everyone. everyone had their views, their ideas, something they want. legit or not, it is a company website and i had to listen to all.

sorting out those ideas, what to use, what to throw away, was hard too. but that was just the skeletal site still .. what to have have or not to have. what came next was the visual aspect of the site, or the design elements, as i like to call. this stage was the toughest. it really, really was hard to please everyone. but in the end, i was pretty happy with was was agreed upon, and moved on to implementation. the implementation phase was the most fun part for me. it was almost like having this "empty canvas" for me to play around with more ideas. i had the time and the creative freedom to try out things. i spent hours doing certain elements, sometimes over and over again, just to make sure the codes were the most efficient possible. and the end product is something i'm pleased with, and proud of, in terms of the coding and structure (both jQuery and smarty). it personally is one of my best work so far.

the final phase was the information architecture aka the content. designing it was tough. and putting them in to the system was one very tedious job. its boring, but someone had to do it.

so yes, finally, the new Platform Interactive is live, and it really is long overdue. it may not exactly be how i would like it to be, in terms of looks and "web2.0-ness", but it still is my baby, and i am proud of it. especially considering the time it took from inception (my crude prototype) to completion.
